Attorney Logo Community Prosecution & Policing

Community Prosecution is based on a closer working relationship between prosecutors, law enforcement, local neighborhoods and communities where crime is occurring. Prosecutors are assigned to work with police, local residents, businesses and others in a specific geographic area to develop strategies for preventing and prosecuting crime, as well as to identify appropriate consequences for those who break the law.  The Office of the Ramsey County Attorney is currently working with the Saint Paul Police Department in three Saint Paul districts to build this type of service.

Case Information Regarding Adults Charged with an Offense

Information on current cases:

  • Call the Ramsey County Second District Court at (651) 266-8180 for information.

Information on closed cases:

  • The Minnesota Judicial Branch offers the Minnesota Trial Court Public Access database and allows searches by defendant name, case number, attorney or citation.

  • The Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS) offers an online database that contains records for closed criminal and civil cases for all of Minnesota.  The Minnesota Trial Court Public Access Remote allows searches by defendant name, case number, attorney or citation.

Case Information Regarding Juveniles Charged with an Offense

Please know that most juvenile information is confidential. In fact, the only cases open to the public are those in which a 16- or 17-year old has been charged with a felony offense or in which a juvenile has been certified to stand trial as an adult.

All juvenile cases are handled at the Juvenile & Family Justice Center (JFJC) located at 25 W. 7th Street, St. Paul, MN 55102.   To inquire about a juvenile case, you may contact either the JFJC at (651) 266-5115 or the Ramsey County Attorney's Juvenile Prosecution Division at (651) 266-3222.
