Commissioner Janice Rettman announced the appointments of Thomas J. McGough, Falcon Heights, and Triesta Brown of the Midway Area of St. Paul to the Capital Improvement Program Committee; and Nyals Kittel, from the Como Park area, to the Equalization Board. The Capital Improvement Program Committee is made up from a broad base of citizens, and is responsible for advising the board on Capital Improvement Projects. Tom brings over 45 years experience in the construction industry, and is President and owner of McGough Construction Co., Inc. He is past Building Division Chairman of the Associated General Contractors, and has served seven years on the Board of Directors. Locally he is a Hamline University Trustee, Director of TCF Financial Corporation, and TCF National Bank of MN. Triesta has over 7 years experience on the City and School Board Capital Improvement Budget Committees. She has a lifetime of experience as a Grant Writer as well as Project Manager and is known as being very active in her community. Nyals as a Board of Equalization member will sit in lieu of the Commissioner and review real estate tax issues. Nyals has been the President of Local 7263 USWA for 24 years. He has served 12 years as Board of Director for the United Way plus 3 years as Board of Director of Second Harvest Food Shelves. Commissioner Janice Rettman believes that nowhere within the entire state could you find three individuals as highly qualified as these. District 3 will be well represented on the Capital Improvement Program Committee and the Equalization Board. "Lifetimes of experiences like this are rare and we are very fortunate to have all three living in our District and representing us: Thank You Thomas, Triesta, and Nyals."
