Lake Owasso (closer to continuing a choice by parents for intermediate care)
On January 19, 1999, the Board passed a resolution to accept the LAWCO financial report and to seek needed funding from the legislature. Further, should the funding and regulatory adjustments be granted by the state legislature, the Board will stage a rebuilding of Lake Owasso at its current site. The units will be 8-bed duplexes, housing the 64 residents and a new administration building. Janice said, "This is what the parents have always wanted and are willing to back with voluntary work and dollars. An excellent service for the county that will be carried out by professional staff and at a reasonable cost."
