It’s Back to School Time!

New immunization laws for schools, child care and early childhood programs begin September 1, 2014. Highlights include Tdap and meningitis vaccine for those children entering 7th grade, Hepatitis A vaccine for children over 12 months attending child care or early childhood programs and Hepatitis B vaccine for children over 2 months attending child care or early childhood programs. Call your clinic for an immunization visit today.

Thousands of Golfers Rediscover Renovated Keller Golf Course

Since reopening July 19, golfers have played nearly 7,500 rounds on the newly renovated historic Keller Golf Course. The 85-year-old course, managed by Ramsey County Parks & Recreation, was closed for 21 months during a complete restoration. In addition, 48 special events have been hosted in the new clubhouse since it opened earlier this year, including five weddings.

Tamarack Nature Center: Free Discovery Walks and Fall Programs

Free Discovery Walks will be offered on select dates in August and September at Tamarack Nature Center in White Bear Township. Walks are open to kids and adults, though children younger than 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Topics include prairie wildflowers and bird migration. View the full walk schedule.

Registration is now open for fall programs at Tamarack Nature Center, including the ever-popular Tamarack Trick or Treat event on October 25. Other programs include yoga for adults, B is for Bats and Skulls, Teeth and Bones Oh My! View more information and register online.

Ramsey County Board Outlines Next Steps on Economic Prosperity Efforts 

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has outlined next steps in a bold strategic plan to cultivate economic prosperity and eliminate concentrated poverty, following a year of data-driven analysis and research, staff workshops, and community discussions.  The strategic plan addresses structures, processes and programs across all county departments in a holistic attempt to provide opportunities for greater prosperity for all residents.

Courthouse Tours Available

Guided tours of the Ramsey Courthouse and St. Paul City Hall are open to the public every Monday except holidays from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Tours will be held on Tuesdays following holidays. Meet in front of Vision of Peace Statue on the first floor.


Courthouse Tours include (as time permits):

  • Building history
  • Memorial Hall
  • Vision of Peace statue
  • Artwork of elevator doors
  • Mayor’s Office
  • Council Chambers
  • Law Library
  • Lower Level and tunnel with view of river
