Important Application Information - Online Application System


This page provides helpful information for job seekers and applicants who wish to search for and/or apply for jobs with Ramsey County.

  • Your application should show all the relevant education and experience you possess.  HR staff use the information you provide to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications for the job.  HR staff may also use this information to score your application for training and experience rating examinations.  Incomplete applications may be rejected, or your final exam score may be negatively affected.

  • You may attach a resume and cover letter when applying using the resume attachment functionality.  However, Ramsey County HR does not accept general correspondence or resumes unless they are submitted for a specific job posting.

  • If you need to amend or correct an application that has been submitted, you will need to submit a second copy before the filing deadline.  If you submit more than one copy of an application for a single job posting, HR staff will ONLY consider your LAST FILED application and remove any earlier versions.  NOTE:  Some job postings may prevent you from filing a second application.  If this is the case, please contact the HR Generalist listed on the job posting for information about how to amend or change your application information.

  • Attachments such as education transcripts/degrees, licenses/certifications or veterans preference documentation may be mailed by USMail, or faxed to HR (651-266-2727) or hand delivered to HR (50 W Kellogg Blvd, Suite 430 Government Center WEST; St Paul, Minnesota 55102).  HR staff will scan attachments into our online application system.  If you submit original copies, HR will return these to you IF you hand deliver them to our offices AND you request they be scanned and returned to you.  HR does not accept/scan work samples or other large attachments unless they are requested of all applicants for a specific job posting.

  • Positions with a "Continuous" Filing Deadline remain open until the Human Resources Department receives a sufficient number of applications.  These positions can close at any time without notice.  You are encouraged to file your completed application as soon as possible.

  • You may also contact our Job Hotline at 651-266-2666 to listen to a recorded list of job postings.

  • You will need an email account to use our online application system.  However, you may request to receive any notices either by email or by paper mail.  If you don't have an email account, you can establish an email account for free from Free email services, such as, AOL, Excite, GMail (Google), Hotmail, and Yahoo.

  • If you forget your LoginID or Password, the main login page provides instructions for how to get this information or reset your password.

  • If you are interested in a specific job that is not currently open for application, you can sign up for a Job Interest Card through the online application system.  If the job opens for application within the next 12 months you will receive an email notice from Ramsey County HR encouraging you to apply.

  • If you wish to receive email notification for all jobs posted to our website, you can sign up for FREE GovDelivery notices to be sent to your email account. 

  • If you prefer to apply for a position via paper application, please call Ramsey County Human Resources at 651-266-2700 during business hours to request a paper application be mailed to you, or DOWNLOAD OUR PAPER APPLICATION FORM (in PDF file format) by clicking hereNOTE:  Most job postings require the completion of a supplemental questionnaire to be considered for employment.  Be sure to print out a copy of this form from the job posting for which you wish to apply.

  • You may select email or paper (U.S. MAIL) as your preferred method of notification when you set up your Applicant Profile/Account.
