Help for New Users - Online Application System


If this is the first time you are applying for jobs in Ramsey County using our online job application, you will need to first create an account (Applicant Profile), and select a Username and Password.  After your account has been created, you can build an application by clicking on the "Build Job Application" link.  This application can be saved and used to apply for more than one job opening.

Once you set up your Applicant Profile, this information is copied to your application each time you apply.  The profile contains your contact information such as Name, Address, Phone Number(s), etc.  Once you save this profile, you will be assigned a Profile ID#.  This ID is used by Ramsey County to track and process your applications.

Where do I go to set up an Applicant Profile/Account?  – To set up a new account, find a job from the list that you wish to apply for.  Click on the APPLY link and you will be taken to the Login Page where you can set up a new user account.

Can I reuse the same application for different job postings? – Yes, you can save one or multiple application templates and reuse them for different job postings.  For instance, you can create an application called "Accountant jobs" and another called "IT Jobs."

Do I need an email account to set up an Applicant Profile/Account? - Yes.  Free email services are available by numerous service providers, such as, AOL, Excite, GMail (Google), Hotmail, and Yahoo.

Can I track the status of my applications?  - Yes.  Once you set up an account with a Login and Password, you can log onto your account and follow the link on the page to track the status of your applications.  You can log in from any computer with access to the internet.

How will I be notified of my status as an applicant? - Ramsey County will notify you of the status of your application in our screening process at steps such as: 

1. if your application is rejected such as if it does not show you meet minimum qualifications
2. if you are scheduled for a written or oral examination
3. if you do not pass the written or oral examination
4. your final score and rank on our eligible list if you pass the examination steps
5. if you are referred out to a hiring department for consideration
6. the outcome of a final interview process by the hiring manager. 

When you set up your Applicant Profile/Account you can select if you prefer to be notified by email or by U.S. (Paper) mail.
