Waiting Children are older youth and teens. Though they may already know how to walk, talk, and send a text message, they still need love and guidance. Through adoption, families and individuals can make a life-changing difference for a teen or young adult.
Each year many teens will age out of foster care with the lifelong support that a family provides. While most of their peers still can rely on the emotional and physical support of family, these teens are left to face the challenges of young adulthood alone.
Fortunately, research demonstrates that adoption makes a difference. Older youth who are adopted from the foster care system demonstrate much greater success in forming healthy relationships, pursuing education, and achieving long-term personal stability.
