Racism exists in our community. Racism can appear in the behavior of one person toward another person, or when racial or cultural prejudices are coupled with the power of an institution becoming institutional racism that plays out in the guiding policies and practices of an organization.
People who work for, work with, or are served by Ramsey County Community Human Services deserve to be treated in ways that are respectful of their racial and cultural experiences. Ramsey County Community Human Services has adopted the goal to eliminate racial and culturally based disparity for its clients and employees. The Anti-Racism Initiative is the way that the Community Human Services department is working to end racial and cultural disparities.
