SITE DESCRIPTION

Battle Creek Regional Park is the largest park within the jurisdiction of Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Department at 1,402 acres. The park grounds include hiking, biking and cross-country ski trails as well as 75 person capacity picnic shelter and 500 person capacity picnic pavilion, game area, playground, off-leash dog area and open space areas. The WATERWORKS Family Aquatic Center is located on the northeastern edge of the park. The area also includes various holding ponds and several miles of paths connecting to Beaver Lake County Park.

 

Battle Creek PavilionPAVILION - NORTH and SOUTH Sides

(weekdays, weekends & holidays)

Capacity:  500

  • 41 six foot picnic tables within pavilion
  • 7 six foot picnic tables located outside pavilion
  • 2 individual kitchens with
    • two-burner electric cooktop
    • sink with hot and cold water
    • walk-in cooler
    • home-style freezer
    • electrical outlets
    • serving window
  • 4 large grills (36" x 28") located outside of pavilion
  • Pig roasting area on South side - NOTE: Special Use Permit required (application)
  • Stage Area - centrally located between the north and south side with 2 electrical outlets
    NOTE: Amplified Sound (music or announcements) is not allowed at Battle Creek Regional Park. 

Rental Fee:  $350 + tax (a $350 facility deposit is due three days prior to rental date.)

 

PAVILION - NORTH Side

Capacity:  250

  • 17 six foot picnic tables located within pavilion
  • 7 six foot picnic tables located outside pavilion
  • Kitchen with
    • two-burner electric cooktop
    • sink with hot and cold water
    • walk-in cooler

Capacity:  75

Available to reserve beginning January 3, 2012 for events on or after Saturday, May 26, 2012

The shelter is located on top of a small hillside. There is a hard surface pathway leading to the shelter from the shared parking area. A beautiful view of wetlands and developed park facilities can be seen from the shelter.

  • 12 six foot picnic tables, including an ADA accessible table
  • Serving counter with electrical outlets
  • 2 large grills (20" x 18") located outside of shelter
  • Drinking fountain with external jug filler
  • Shared restroom access in nearby Pavilion
  • Newly Constructed 2011-12

Rental Fee:  $125 + tax (there is no damage deposit due)

 

OTHER PARK AMENITIES

  • 255 parking spaces; 14 accessible (shared between park and aquatic center patrons)
  • 100 overflow space parking lot - located on south side of Upper Afton Road 
  • Handicapped accessible restrooms (pavilion only)
  • Large creative play area
  • 25 picnic tables and 8 grills throughout the park
  • WATERWORKS Family Aquatic Center within park 
  • Paved and mountain biking trails - trail access from Winthrop Street
  • Off-leash dog area located at Lower Afton Road and McKnight Road
