Maple Syrup Tree Tap Training


Age Requirement: Adults/Families/Youth accompanied by an Adult
Time Commitment: Mandatory Training - Saturday, February 25th 10:00am to 12:00 @ Tamarack.
After completing the maple syrup training you can sign up to volunteer on days that work best with your schedule. Maple season runs March through April.

Join us for Tamarack Nature Center's Maple Syrup Season! Learn the ins and outs of making yummy syrup and the role you can play in this ultimate volunteer opportunity! Collect sap, boil syrup, and bring home a jar to share with the family. By joining our maple syrup assembly line you will contribute to one of the sweetest traditions of Minnesota! The honey bees may think otherwise...

Animal Tank Scrub Team


Age Requirement: Adults, Groups, or Youth 13+
Time Commitment: Open for assistance one time each season. Project time to finish varies by team. (Range 1-3 hours)
 
Our resident program animal homes need a scrub down! Make animal tanks sparkle and shine to help give visitors a clear view of these amazing Minnesota creatures. The Tamarack animals will appreciate coming back to a healthy environment. A great volunteer project for 2 to 4 people. Clothing that can get dirty and wet recommended. Some heavy lifting required.

Nature Program Assistant


Age Requirement:
Adults or Youth 17+
Time Commitment: 3 hours on program, offered Tuesday through Thursday.
Choose 5 programs to sign up for during the current season, more if you like :)
Fall season runs: Sept 1st through Nov 30th, Spring season runs: March 1st through early June
Training: Ongoing & generally held on a Friday before scheduled program.

Share, learn, and rediscover nature through a child's eyes. By creating positive memories for students, you will help spark environmental motivation and understanding for future generations. This volunteer position is infused with FUN = apple cider pressing, sweep netting, pond dipping, maple syrup tapping, and more! A great way to experience seasonal change. Experience working with youth and group management skills preferred, love of children & nature mandatory.
