Lodging establishments include establishments such as hotels, motels, lodging houses and resorts. See the Ramsey County Lodging Establishment Ordinance (pdf) for a full explanation of definitions and applicable rules.
A Registered Sanitarian from this Department inspects lodging establishments yearly. The lodging establishment is evaluated for a variety of factors during these inspections, including the following areas:
- Building structure and maintenance, lighting, ventilation, fire protection
- Condition and cleanliness of floors, walls, ceilings and furnishings
- Cleanliness of linens, toilets, showers, sinks
- Water supply, plumbing, ice dispensing
- Waste disposal, vermin control, screening

Youth Camps
Youth camps include "Children's Camps" as defined in Minnesota Statutes section 144.71. See the Ramsey County Youth Camp Ordinance (pdf) for a full explanation of definitions and applicable rules.
A Registered Sanitarian from this Department inspects youth camps yearly, and the standards followed are found in Minnesota rules 4630.2300 through 4630.4700. The youth camp is evaluated for a variety of factors during these inspections, including the following areas:
