Dashboard of Indicators
Metro and county-specific trend data presented in a dashboard format that displays items by geographic area or by a specific health indicator. The Dashboard provides rates for a number of health related indicators including: Chlamydia, homicide, suicide, hospitalized falls, infant mortality, low birth weight, prenatal care, teen pregnancy, and school dropout rates as well as select indicators from the Minnesota Student Survey.

Healthy People 2020 Adolescent Health, September 2011
This statistical report examines protective factors (positive behaviors) of Ramsey County adolescents, using data from the 2010 Minnesota Student Survey. Participation in extracurricular activities, positive family communication, and presence of caring adults are measured.

Metro Adult Health Survey
The Metro Adult Health Survey project is a regional, coordinated public health effort to provide standardized, comparable health data for the metro region of Minnesota. Results from the survey provide county-specific data on health behaviors (physical activity, healthy eating and tobacco use and exposure) and overall health status of adult residents. One document details results for Ramsey County, the other document reflects the aggregate results from the six county metro area including Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Ramsey, Scott and Washington.

Disease Reports provide final numbers, rates and trends for selected cases of reportable disease among Ramsey County residents. The source of information is a disease surveillance and reporting system maintained by the Minnesota Department of Health in conjunction with local jurisdictions, including Saint Paul - Ramsey County Public Health.

2012 Resident Solid Waste & Recycling Survey Report
For more than twenty years, Ramsey County has surveyed residents and businesses to help assess participation and trends in recycling and other waste management programs. Some survey questions are repeated to help illustrate trends over time in waste management behavior. Other questions are added to help shed light on emerging issues. The 2012 survey addressed the knowledge and practice of households in their management and disposal of recyclable materials , organic waste, and hazardous and bulky items. In addition, a series of four resident focus groups and 30 key informant interviews were conducted with landlords and property managers in Ramsey County. The Department uses this information to learn how specific types of wastes are managed and assist in public information efforts.

Saint Paul Early Childhood Scholarship Program Final Report, June 2011
This report examines the scholarship program that provided funds for early childhood education and parent mentoring for low income families with children 1 to 3 years old that lived in Saint Paul planning districts 6 or 7. Data is presented on the number of parent mentoring visits by contracted agencies and there is a description of the activities/services provided by the program.

Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health Teen Medical Use Study, January 2012
This study comprehensively examined teen’s recent use of preventive medical care in Ramsey County. Over 700 surveys were collected in communities across Ramsey County during 2011 that asked teens to provide their perspectives on barriers to care and identify the things that would make it easier to get to the doctor more often. Populations of color were well-represented in this study and findings are being used to improve Child & Teen Checkup outreach activities in 2012.

Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP)
SHIP is an integral part of Minnesota’s nation-leading 2008 health reform law. SHIP strives to help Minnesotans lead longer, healthier lives by preventing the chronic disease risk factors of tobacco use and exposure, poor nutrition and physical inactivity. SHIP seeks to create sustainable, systemic changes in schools, worksites, communities and health care organizations that make it easier for Minnesotans to incorporate healthy behaviors into their daily lives. The following reports were generated to support work under SHIP from 2009-2011.
