Snowmobile Safety Training

About Snowmobile Training

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, under the direction of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), provides youth snowmobile safety training courses.

The purpose of this training course is to teach participants the safe operation of a snowmobile.  The rules and regulations for operating a snowmobile on public lands and waters in Minnesota are also taught.  Upon completion, youth receive a certificate to operate a snowmobile in Minnesota.

Snowmobile safety certificate training  may be required by law. Visit the Department of Natural Resources website for current Snowmobile Safety Certificate Training Requirements.

Snowmobile Safety CD may be obtained by contacting the DNR at 651-296-6157.

Class Schedule

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office offers classes throughout the year. Class dates and times throughout the state are listed on the DNR website approximately two months prior to the class.
Class sizes are limited, offered on a first come, first serve basis, and subject to change.
